2016 - 2017 Fraternal Year
July 2016 - Michael Stiller
Michael Stiller as a new Knight and already volunteering for two activities this past month. Michael is working toward earning the Shining Armor Award. The medal is awarded for service to the Order with distinction during the first year of membership, the “Shining Armor Award” is given to those men that exemplify what a true Knight of Columbus is. August 2016 - John Anderson
The Knight of the Month for August 2016 is SK John Anderson for taking a lead in this year's very successful Golf Outing. John has served as Grand Knight for the council as well as the Faithful Navigator for Assembly 818.
September 2016 - Greg Obringer
The Knight of the Month for September 2016 is SK Greg Obringer. Greg has served the council as a committee chair and officer positions. He currently runs the council Blood Drives and volunteers regularly for other activities.
October 2016 - Michael Steel
Mike's legal background and his dedication to the St. Sebastian community were crucial to the procurement of the building for our new St. Julie Billiart School of St. Sebastian Parish. His wife, Lisa has been instrumental in coordination of clean up and fundraising events as well.
December 2016 - FN SK Ray Stone
December's Knight of the Month is Assembly #818's Faithful Navigator SK Ray Stone for entertaining everyone as the Christmas Social with his barbershop quartet. In addition to volunteering for his Council and Assembly, Ray cantors for the church and he is an amateur photographer.
January 2017 - Mike Palko
Mike Palko has been named Knight of the Month for January 2017. Mike has been a regular volunteer at both Council and Church sponsored events. He is easily recognized by the camera always by his side ready to snap the next photo. Many of the pictures used on the website and our Council were taken by Mike.
February 2017 - SK Jeff Davis (PGK)
The Knight of the Month for February 2017 the council's past Grand Knight, SK Jeff Davis. Jeff has been an important player from the council's early days by not only serving as an officer but as regular volunteer and lead founder for the Akron Council Charities organization. This past month he helped with our membership drive at the International Festival and sponsored an Open House for new perspective members the following week.
